I’m forever finding new things I want to try/buy so I thought I would create an ‘Autumn Wish List’ to share with you all!
1. L’Occitane Aftershave Balm – If you’re a dedicated Modish Male reader, then you will know that for some time I have been trying to grow a beard with not much success. I think I must have some kind of genetic issue which means I cannot grow a nice bushy beard (sad face). So I do my up most to make the best out of a bad situation, which means looking after my skin before and after shaving! Whether it’s a wet shave or dry electric shave.
Which brings me onto the L’Occitane Aftershave Balm which I have included in my ‘Autumn Wish List’ It’s so important to look after your skin, even more so in Autumn/Winter due to the cold weather (If you live in a hot foreign county, I hate you)
This Balm in particular is enriched with protecting Shea Butter (Shea Butter being a fat extracted from the nut of a Shea Tree – AKA smells amazing and feels great on your skin! Plus vegetable-based glycerin, bisabolol and extract of birch sap! I always thought sap was from a tree when it was cold, and after looking online I am correct! It’s basically the water directly from birch trees.
Its main job is to immediately sooth the skin after shaving, and helps to prevent irritation (rashes) and the feeling of tightness which Is quite common after using gels/foams etc. It’s a light texture and blends nicely into the skin with the added bonus of smelling like the aromatic spicy L’Occitan scent!
So sounds like the perfect product for me and my sensitive skin!
2. Gruhme No 14 – I worked with the Sterling Shave Club not so long ago on a post for their subscription shave service, and when I received my parcel of goodies from them it included a sample of Gruhme No 14! Gruhme being a name I had never heard of before was created in 2013 by Rob Hallmark, whose main aim was to bring back the creativity into the designer male fragrance industry. The No 14 scent smells out of this world and is extremely powerful! So a little goes a very long way!
3. Camel Overcoat – This was on my wish list last year but I never managed to find THE ONE! I have been scouring the internet and have found some with a lot of potential!
Single Breasted Tailored Fit // M&S // £99 – This is very similar to the Ben Sherman coat I brought last year as its single breasted and very classic. I really like this style, but is it too classic for everyday use? With jeans and a t-shirt etc.? One bonus is the fact it’s over 50% wool!
Jack & Jones City Coat // Next // £80 – This coat is classed as brown, which isn’t really what I’m looking for! But its near enough camel coloured . . right? I really like this jacket in particular the collar and fit! Also the fact its part wool is another bonus (79% Polyester, 21% Wool)
Overcoat in Camel // ASOS // £60 – This is the cheapest out of the 3 options I have selected! I really do love ASOS and the quality of their clothes I have found always to be great! The only thing which may put me off is that its 94% polyester, but again this is shown in the price as its great value!
UPDATE – since writing this post, I have actually brought the Jack & Jones City Coat, and LOVE IT! I will be doing a look book very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
4. Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Candle // £42 – I’m a big fan of Jo Malone, my favourite candle scent being the Lime, Basil & Mandarin which I continually buy over and over so I thought I would switch things up! I read on GQ that this scent is very earthy and green and popular around Christmas time! So sounds perfect to me! I hate cinnamon based candles and that’s what’s mostly around this time of year! So this is a great alternative.
5. The Classic Cashmere Scarf in Check (with monogramming) // Burberry // £385 – This really is a ‘Wish List’ item! I have an old classic cashmere Burberry scarf but would love a new one with my initials on! Back in the day before I was saving to buy a property I wouldn’t have thought twice of purchasing this! But I have had to curb my spending. . . who knows I might treat myself at Christmas time!
