Dapper Dan Deluxe Pomade x The Modern Man

Back in November the guys at The Modern Man sent me a selection of Hair Pomade’s to try out . . . I was initially going to do a brand battle, however as soon as I tried the first product “Dapper Dan Deluxe Pomade” I literally fell in love with it and have used it everyday since!

The Modern Man are an online retailer of all things male grooming! What I LOVE is the easy to use website especially the “concerns” tab which you should check out! Due to having acne prone skin I’m always looking for products to help in that area, so the way The Modern Man site is configured is to show all items relating to a certain need. So instead of endless research into if something is good for acne, oily skin, blemishes etc. all of the products are already categorised for you. Amazing!

Who is Dan? And why is he Dapper?

Well Dapper Dan was founded in 2011 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The Dapper Dan Matt Paste was the first product launched in 2012 followed by Deluxe Pomade and Matt Clay in 2014, so they only have a few products on their books, however these products were developed over a ten-year period by top professionals in the trade! So you know what you’re getting is the real deal.

Before I was introduced to the Deluxe Pomade which is water based, I was using a regular pomade which was making my hair look greasy so this came just at the right time. I’m also not a fan of high shine products and this is classed as medium shine which is fine by me!

Probably my favourite thing about this product is its smell! Citrus & Vanilla and almost edible (don’t worry, I haven’t tried to eat it!) It’s probably the best smelling hair product I have ever used!

Another one of my pet peeves when it comes to hair products is how hard they make your hair! I like a product which allows me to still run my fingers through my hair and which washes out easily which this pomade definitely does.

So there we have it, my verdict on the Dapper Dan Deluxe Pomade which truly lives up to its name! Deluxe in every way and my current go to hair product! You can pick this up from The Modern Man for £11.95 for 100ml which will last you a good few months! I still have some left and have been it since I got it late November!

Look out for future hair posts from me!

Looks like a great product. Love the name too, as worn by George Clooney in “O, Brother where art thou”.
