I am in no way a men’s shaving guru, come to think of it I can’t even grow a real beard! My middle name should be patch due to the state of my boy hair! But here are a few tips I follow to try to make the best of a bad situation!
1 – Prepare Your Face – Shower before you shave, to make sure your beard is wet. And use a pre shave face/scrub/balm! I never used anything like this until I was introduced to Cornerstone and used their Facial Scrub with Cedarwood & Volcanic sand in! It gets your skin ready and helps to avoid any bumps/redness.
2 – Level Your Hair Out – If you’re like me and growing facial hair is like trying to get blood from a stone, then follow this step! My entire face grows at different times, so every few days I will shave the lot on the same number setting to eventually get an even beard. You can then start to play around and actually design your beard/stubble and connect it to side burns etc. the first few weeks/months will be annoying but persist!
3 – Keep Your Shaver Clean – Probably something a lot of us should do more often! But you can really tell the difference between a clean and hair clogged shaver! If your shaver is waterproof just rinse the lot! Easy-peasy!
4 – Shave On A Fully Charged Shaver – There is nothing worse than having a shave with a shaver near enough dead with no battery. Instead of shaving the hair, it will literally rip it from your face! This bloody hurts and makes your beard even more patchy!
5 – Patience Is A Virtue – So many times I wake up in the morning look at my beard riddled face and just grab the shaver and get rid of the lot! It wasn’t growing, it was all patchy these are the things I tell myself. Then after a while It dawns on me, WTF are you doing Charlie! Be patient and if all else fails buy a beard toupee. . . that’s a thing right?
I currently use the Braun 9240s which is a Metal Foil wet/dry shaver, but its price could put some people off and some people don’t like the Metal Foil so the below could be a great alternative for you!

I can only use my Babyliss i stubble once it’s charged, so I am unable to use it while its connected but with the Panasonic you can! There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning in a rush, then realising your shaver is dead and having to wait for it to charge! With the Panasonic you haven’t got to worry about that!
2 – Worldwide Voltage Capability – Compatible with 100-240 volts so can be used worldwide (with the appropriate adapter) which again is something most shavers lack! Many a time I have gone on holiday only to realise the hotel only has a certain voltage and its always the incorrect one for my shaver!
3 – Hair Comb Attachment – I have never been brave enough to have a go at “tidying” my own hair in-between hair appointments, but with this shaver I think I would risk it! You get an attachment which has the options for lengths between 11-20mm so perfect for those pesky side burns and around the ears.
4 – Speedy Charging Time – It takes just 1 hour to fully charge the GB80 and it lasts for approx. 50 minutes! That gives you plenty of time for a beard trim, hair tidy and quick manscape to keep downstairs looking groomed!

Some people prefer to have wet shaves, some people prefer to have dry shaves, so this covers all areas! In my opinion I prefer to use my electric shaver on a wet face, as the hair seems to cut closer.
